During her schooling Szturm would busy herself with interdisciplinary readings/research primarily in history and biology arenas; volunteering for previous UOttawa graduating students during art sales; selling and exhibiting her work where she finds fit.

Szturm installed her own one-room spotlight show and acted as a volunteer artist/speaker to an array of visitors to the UOttawa Visual Arts building.

Szturm participated in the Gleam showcase, showcasing for sale a trio of works: Long Week Ahead (November 2023), Beanie chameleon (August 2023), and Inchworm on Bleeding Hearts (August 2023)

Fine ArtistZip Zap Zoop in 100 Laurier; Ottawa, ON 

Szturm participated in this happening via an "Art-O-Matic" machine she and her contemporary Mia Gertin-Crête created out of cardboard, tape, and markers. For the night, Szturm acted as a real, live artist/vending machine combination who - upon asking a few questions and receiving a few bucks - would dispense a small, pencil/paper artwork that aligned with the recipient "completely."

Szturm headed the Curatorial Research team during her Curation class with Celina Jeffery, with whom she was guided to research, organize, and create this exhibition.

Fine Artist; Printed Impressions in the Niche Gallery; Ottawa, ON

Szturm participated in the Printed Impressions printmaking showcase, making linocut prints showcasing and selling several linocut prints of hers: Contemporary Nature (October 2023), Jackalope (October 2023), counting sins on my fingers (September 2023), overwatering the chokecherry tree (September 2023), and anatomy of a pomegranate (September 2023)

Szturm participated in the sale the artist making linocut prints, collages, paintings, and artist books to sell. Szturm successfully made revenue for her own savings gaining experience with smaller, organized event-sales.

Workshop leader, Fine Artist, Curator; INK UP! in Gallery 115; Ottawa, ON

Szturm ran a day-long workshop teaching newcomers the art of linocutting in a workshop-exhibition hybrid (the exhibition of which ran for over a week), not only conceiving of the idea, but proposing, preparing, installing, teaching, curating, and showcasing the art for the event.

Szturm provided a work of hers that successfully sold in this Exhibition / Art Auction fundraising for a new gallery in her hometown.

Szturm oil painted live for garden tour-goers images of plants and animals to help as fundraising for a new gallery in her hometown.

Fine Artist; Trading Post in Fort William Historic Park; Thunder Bay, ON

Currently, Szturm is selling a short run of historic-themed linocuts in the FWHP Gift Shop.

2021 - 23                                

Fine Artist & Volunteer; Grad-Show Winter Art Sale; Ottawa, ON

For all years she has participated in the sale the artist made linocut prints, collages, paintings, pendants and artist books to sell. Szturm successfully made revenue not only for the graduating students' final show but for her own savings. The artist also assisted in installation for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 Winter Art Sales.

2021 - 23                                

Visitor Services Attendant; Thunder Bay Art Gallery; Thunder Bay, ON

Szturm aided in scanning and archiving items, inventorying stock, making informational/educational video content, janitorial duties, waitressing for events, education with the public, tour-guiding, shooting promotional photos for marketing gift shop items, helping move and arrange exhibition artwork, reception and sales activities such as taking phone calls, handling cash, and speaking to the public. She consistently forged trust, positivity, and respect with management, coworkers, and the public, and developed organizational skills fit for any workplace.

2017 - 19, Summer 2022       

Historical InterpreterFort William Historic Park

Szturm aided in historical interpreting/acting/education, animal care/rearing, gardening responsibilities, artistic endeavors like ice sculpting, sewing (leather, fabric, beads, porcupine needles), singing, storytelling, and painting. She injected care, positivity, and effort into my environment whilst developing confident public speaking skills in addition to being exposed to a variety of teaching experiences.
